How to build a shed shelving

Finished size: Full wall, 3 shelves at 400 mm spacing.

Steps

  1. Screw vertical uprights to the shed studs.
  2. Fix horizontal battens level at each shelf height.
  3. Cut OSB to 400 mm depth and screw to the battens.
  4. Add a front lip batten on the top shelf for tins.
Tip: Screw into the shed frame, not the cladding: 12 mm cladding will not hold a loaded shelf.

Materials

  • 4 × 70×45 mm timber, 2.4 m
  • 2 × 12 mm OSB or ply sheets, cut to 400 mm
  • 40 × 5×80 mm screws

  • Level
