How to build a potting bench

Steps

  1. Build two leg frames with a back leg taller for the upstand.
  2. Join with front and back rails at worktop and shelf height.
  3. Screw slatted boards to the worktop and lower shelf.
  4. Add a back shelf rail and hooks for tools.
Tip: Leave 5 mm gaps between worktop slats so soil and water fall through.

  • 6 × 70×45 mm treated timber, 2.4 m
  • 6 × 120×22 mm treated boards, 2.4 m
  • 80 × 5×60 mm exterior screws
